SEO for landscapers: get found by people planning their garden
Updated 1 October 2026 · 4 minute read
People plan gardens months ahead and look at a lot of photos first. The landscapers who stay booked are the ones those people keep seeing while they plan.
Searches for the job, not the trade
People search for "patio installers", "fencing" or "landscape gardener", and often for a specific material like Indian sandstone or porcelain paving. For a sense of scale, "gardener near me" alone gets about 22,200 UK searches a month (Local Ladder's UK Trade Lead Cost Tracker, September 2026). A page for each type of job gives you a chance at each of those searches.
1. A page for each job
- Patios, naming the materials you lay
- Fencing and gates
- Turfing and lawns
- Driveways
- Full garden makeovers and design
2. Before-and-after project pages
A garden transformation is the most persuasive thing you can show. A page for each standout job, with before and after photos, the town and what was done, wins trust and matches how people search. Get the customer's permission, and never show their address.
3. Be ready before the season
New pages can take weeks to show up in Google. If spring is your busy time, get your patio and garden pages published, and your Google profile full of fresh photos, over the winter, so they're working when people start planning.
4. Your Google Business Profile
- Pick the main category that matches the work you want most, such as Landscaper.
- Verify it and complete everything: areas, services and your website. Google says complete and accurate info makes you more likely to show in local results.
- Post photos of finished gardens often. Google lists photos among the ways to show what you offer.
5. Reviews and the basics
Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking, so ask every customer with your review link (see our reviews guide). Use clear page titles such as "Patio installers in Bury | Your Business Name", keep photos quick to load, and use the same name, number and area everywhere.
