How much does MyBuilder cost for tradespeople?

MyBuilder doesn't charge a membership fee. Instead you pay each time a customer shortlists you, whether or not you win the job. Here's how that works and what it typically costs.
Short answer: You pay a shortlist fee each time a customer shares their contact details with you. MyBuilder says the fee is shown before you act, depends on the likely size, value and location of the job, and is payable whether or not you're hired. Its own pages put typical fees at about £2 to £35; Local Ladder's tracker reports £5 to £35 for typical jobs, and £15 to £60 for roofing.
How MyBuilder charges
- No membership fee. You express interest in jobs posted by customers.
- A shortlist fee is charged each time a customer shares their contact details with you after you've expressed interest.
- MyBuilder's terms say the fee is calculated from the likely size, value and location of the job, and is shown before you act.
- The fee is non-refundable (subject to limited exceptions in the terms), and you pay it whether or not you win the job.

How to keep the cost down
- Only express interest in jobs you really want and can do soon.
- Read the job carefully. Vague posts are more likely to go nowhere.
- Reply fast once shortlisted. Other trades will have been shortlisted too.
- Track your win rate: total fees divided by jobs won is your real cost per job.
