In September 2026 we checked 8,584 trade listings on Google Maps across Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Stockport and Wigan. 40.8% had no website on their Google listing, slightly above the UK figure of 39.1%.

By trade, joiners and carpenters were the most likely to have no website (56.0% of 596 listings) and roofers the least likely (31.3% of 1,061). Across Greater Manchester, trades with a website had a median of 4 Google reviews; those without had a median of 0, and 54% of them had no reviews at all. That's a link, not proof that one causes the other.

What a Manchester trade website needs
- The areas you cover, written out. People search “plumber Stockport” or “roofer Bolton”, not just “plumber”. List the boroughs and towns you work in, in plain words.
- A page for each job. Someone searching “boiler service Salford” should land on your boiler servicing page, not a general home page.
- Your Google reviews on every page. In a big city there are plenty of trades to pick from, and reviews are what people compare first.
- Tap-to-call and WhatsApp. Most people look for a trade on their phone and want to reach you in one tap.
- The same name, number and area everywhere. Your site, Google profile, Facebook and van should match, so Google is sure they're all you.

Are you actually based in Manchester?
Yes. We're based in Manchester and work with trades across Greater Manchester and the rest of the UK. We don't do site visits, because we build everything from your Google listing, so it works the same wherever you are.
Do I need to meet you?
No. We build the site first and send you the link by text or WhatsApp. If you'd like to talk it through, ring or WhatsApp us on the number at the top of the page.
Can my website show the areas I cover without my home address?
Yes. Your website lists the towns and areas you cover, and your Google Business Profile can be set up as a service-area business with the address hidden.
Will it get me to the top of Google in Manchester?
No one can honestly promise that, and Manchester is a busy market. What we do is give you the right foundations: a page per job, your areas, business markup and help with your Google profile. Reviews and an active Google profile make the biggest difference.
