No monthly fees
A website with no monthly fees.
No monthly subscription, no direct debit and no contract. You pay £199 once for your website, your domain and the first year's hosting. From year two it's £50 a year to keep it online, and only if you want to.
The price
One payment, then one small yearly renewal.
£199 once
Your finished website with a page for each service, your own domain and 12 months of hosting and security. You pay once you've seen it and want to keep it.
Year one£50 a year from year two
Hosting, your domain renewal, security and small text changes like new hours or a new number. That's about £4 a month, paid once a year.
Renewal£299 over three years
Pay-monthly websites often cost far more over the same time. At £39.99 a month, one provider in our website cost guide works out at more than £1,400 over three years.
TotalNo contract, and it's yours
Renewing is optional. If you stop, we send you the website files and help you move your domain, so you're never paying just to keep your own site.
OwnershipPay monthly websites vs paying once, over 1, 3 and 5 years
Pay-monthly web design spreads the cost, but the payments don't stop. Here's what each option costs if you stay on it at today's published price. Every figure is from the provider's own website.
| Option | Terms | 1 year | 3 years | 5 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hi-Vis Web | £199 once, then £50 a year. Domain included. No contract | £199 | £299 | £399 |
| iWebServices | From £25 a month + £199 setup. 36-month minimum. Domain included | £499 | £1,099 | £1,699 |
| Websites 4 Trades | £30 a month. You buy your own domain | £360 | £1,080 | £1,800 |
| Kitching | £39.99 a month, rolling. The site goes offline if you cancel | £479.88 | £1,439.64 | £2,399.40 |
| WebWinton | £75 a month + £150 up front. 12-month minimum | £1,050 | £2,850 | £4,650 |
Prices checked on each provider's pricing page: iWebServices and Websites 4 Trades on 2 October 2026, Kitching and WebWinton on 25 September 2026. None of the four says whether its prices include VAT. Prices marked “from” can be higher.
Why the gap keeps growing
With a monthly plan you keep paying the same amount for as long as the site stays online, so the total grows every month. With us, the website is paid for once, and from year two £50 a year covers hosting, your domain, security and small text changes. Over five years that's £399 in total.
Pay monthly isn't always a bad deal. If you want regular new pages, ongoing marketing or someone on the phone every month, a monthly plan can make sense. If you just want a proper website that works, paying once costs far less.
Five things to check in any pay-monthly contract
- The minimum term. 12, 24 or 36 months is common, and leaving early can mean paying the rest.
- Whose name the domain is in. It should be yours, so you can take it with you.
- What happens if you cancel. On some plans the site goes offline and you keep nothing.
- The setup fee. Add it to the monthly price before you compare.
- The price after the minimum term. “From” prices and introductory deals can go up.
Thinking of building it yourself instead? We compared Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and Hostinger on the same basis.
How it works: we build your site from your Google listing, send you a link to look at it on your phone, and you only pay if you want to keep it. The four steps in full.
Your website
Only once you've seen it and want to keep it.
- Home page plus a page for each service
- Your own domain and 12 months' hosting
- Your photos swapped in and two rounds of changes
From year two
Optional. Hosting, domain renewal and small text changes. No contract. Full pricing.
Questions
Questions about paying once.
Is there really no monthly fee?
Yes. There's no monthly charge at all. You pay £199 once, then £50 a year from year two if you want us to keep the site online.
Why don't you charge monthly like everyone else?
We keep our costs low by building every site from what's already on your Google listing, with no site visits, meetings or sales team. That means we don't need to tie you into a monthly plan to make it pay.
What does the £50 a year cover?
Hosting, your domain renewal, security, keeping the site online, and small text changes like new opening hours or a new phone number. Bigger changes, like a new page, we price up first.
What happens if I don't renew?
Nothing bad. Tell us and we'll send you the files so you can host the site anywhere, and help you move your domain. If a renewal isn't paid, we'll let you know before we take the site offline.
Is this a website builder?
No. We build the whole site for you. If you'd rather build your own, see our comparison of Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and Hostinger prices.
