How much does a website cost for a joiner or carpenter in the UK?
Updated 1 October 2026 · 4 minute read
For a joiner, a website is really a portfolio with a phone number on it. Here's what one costs, and what it needs to show to win the work.
The price, briefly
Doing it yourself on a builder like Wix starts at around £108 a year. A freelance designer usually wants £1,500 or more, and an agency more again. Every figure and source is in our website cost guide. For a joiner, the more useful sum is how few jobs it takes to cover the cost.
How quickly it pays for itself
Checkatrade's 2026 price guides put a standard three-door fitted wardrobe at about £3,250 on average, and a carpenter's labour for fitting at around £270 a day. One bespoke wardrobe is worth many times the cost of any website on the market, and a single day's fitting covers the £199 we charge.
What a joinery website must have
- Big, clear photos of finished work on every page, loading quickly on a phone.
- A page for each type of work: wardrobes, kitchens, staircases, doors, flooring.
- A "send photos for a guide price" button on WhatsApp.
- Your reviews, and the materials and finishes you work with.
Compared with paying for leads
Local Ladder's UK Trade Lead Cost Tracker (verified 30 September 2026) puts a top-of-page Google Ads click on "carpenter near me" at £1.50 to £10.61, MyBuilder shortlists at typically £5 to £35 each, and Checkatrade at £30 a month (Approved) or from £59 a month (Growth), plus VAT. A bespoke wardrobe or staircase is worth far more than that, but only if the customer likes your work enough to ring.
Where we fit
A Hi-Vis Web joinery site costs £199, which includes your domain and the first year of hosting. After that it's £50 a year, cancel any time, so £299 covers three years. The design is calm and photo-led, with separate pages for wardrobes, kitchens and flooring and a "send photos for a guide price" button. You see it finished before paying a penny. See our websites for joiners.
