How much does a website cost for a plumber in the UK?
Updated 1 October 2026 · 5 minute read
A plumbing website can cost almost nothing or several thousand pounds. The useful question is what you get for the money, and how quickly it pays for itself compared with paying for leads.
The main options
| Option | Typical cost | Who does the work |
|---|---|---|
| DIY website builder (e.g. Wix Light) | £108 a year, paid yearly | You |
| Freelancer, small brochure site | £1,500 to £3,000 | Them, usually after a deposit |
| Agency, small brochure site | £3,000 to £5,000 | Them |
| Pay-monthly website | About £29 to £75 a month | Them, often on a 12-month plan |
The freelancer and agency figures come from Whito's May 2026 research. Pay-monthly prices are from providers' own pricing pages. Our full website cost guide has the details and sources, and our builder comparison covers renewal prices.
Compare it with what leads cost
Most plumbers already pay for work one way or another. Local Ladder's UK Trade Lead Cost Tracker (verified 30 September 2026) puts typical costs at:
| Where the lead comes from | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Google Ads click on “plumber near me” | £2.09 to £13.41 per click (not per job) |
| MyBuilder | £5 to £35 per shortlist, non-refundable |
| Bark | Roughly £9 to £36+ per lead |
| Checkatrade | £30 a month (Approved) or from £59 a month (Growth), plus VAT, on 12-month contracts |
A website is different: you pay for it once or yearly, and every customer who finds you through it costs nothing extra. It also backs up the leads you do pay for, because most people look a plumber up before they ring.
What a plumber's website needs, whatever you pay
- Your number and a WhatsApp button at the top of every page, easy to tap on a phone.
- Separate routes for emergencies and planned work.
- A page for each job you want more of: leaks, blocked drains, bathrooms, boilers if you're Gas Safe.
- The towns and areas you cover.
- Your Google reviews and photos of real jobs.
If a quote doesn't include these, ask why.
Questions to ask before you pay anyone
- Do I own the website and the domain?
- Is there a minimum contract, and what does leaving early cost?
- What exactly does the monthly or yearly fee cover?
- Can I see the site before I pay?
Where we fit
We charge £199 once for a plumbing website with your own domain and a year's hosting, then £50 a year from year two, with no contract. That's £299 over three years. We build it from your Google listing before you pay anything, with emergency and planned-work routes and a page for each job. See our websites for plumbers.
