Should I choose gloss, satinwood or eggshell?
Gloss is very hard-wearing with a high shine. Satinwood has a softer sheen and is popular in modern homes. Eggshell has the lowest sheen of the three for a subtle, contemporary look.
Why has my white gloss turned yellow?
Oil-based paints can yellow over time, especially in rooms with little daylight. Water-based paints tend to stay white for longer, which is why they're now widely used indoors.
Can water-based paint go over oil-based paint?
Yes, with the right preparation. The surface needs cleaning, a light sand and usually a suitable primer or undercoat so the new paint bonds properly.
