Protect
Furniture is moved and covered, floors are sheeted, and fittings, sockets and edges are masked before any sanding starts.
Prepare
Cracks filled, surfaces sanded and cleaned, stains blocked and bare areas primed. This is the step that makes the finish last.
Paint, check & hand over

Plastering & skimming: your questions answered
What's the difference between skimming and plastering?
Skimming is a thin finishing coat applied over walls that are basically sound. Re-plastering means removing old, failing plaster and applying new coats, which takes longer.
How long after plastering can I paint?
New plaster must dry fully first. That can take from several days to a few weeks, depending on thickness, heating and ventilation. It turns from dark to an even pale pink when dry, and then needs a mist coat before the top coats.
Is plastering messy?
It can create dust, especially when old plaster is removed. Floors and furniture are sheeted, the room is closed off where possible and the work area is cleaned at the end of each day.
