Wired or wireless: which is better?+
Wired systems are very reliable and need no battery changes, so they suit renovations and new builds. Wireless is quicker to fit with less mess, and works well in most homes. We'll suggest what fits your property.
What's the difference between monitored and app alerts?+
With app alerts, your phone gets a notification and you decide what to do. A monitored system sends alerts to a monitoring centre that can call keyholders or, in some cases, the police. Monitoring has an ongoing cost, so we'll explain it plainly first.
Are there rules about where I point a camera?+
If your camera films beyond your boundary, such as the street or a neighbour's garden, data protection law applies to you. That means having a good reason, telling people with a sign, and keeping footage secure. We angle cameras and use privacy masking to keep to your property where we can.
Will my dog set the alarm off?+
Not if we plan for it. Pet-friendly motion sensors and sensible placement mean most pets can roam while the alarm is set.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?+
Yes. We set up the app with you on the day, so you can watch live, look back at recordings and get alerts.
