When is the best time of year to landscape a garden?

Do I need planning permission for garden work?
Most garden work doesn't need it. Fences over 2 metres (or 1 metre next to a road), decking more than 30cm off the ground, non-permeable front garden paving over 5 square metres, listed buildings and conservation areas can all need consent. If in doubt, check with your local council.
How long does a typical garden project take?
A patio or fence might take a few days. A full design and build can take several weeks. Weather and material lead times both play a part, and your quote will include a realistic timeline.
Is artificial grass really maintenance-free?
It's low-maintenance rather than no-maintenance. Expect occasional brushing and leaf clearing, plus a rinse where pets use it. In return, there's no mowing, feeding or muddy patches.
Will you need access through my house?
Only if there's no side or rear access to the garden. If we do need to come through, we'll agree the route with you first and protect floors and doorways.
What happens to the waste?
Soil, old paving, fencing and green waste are taken away as part of the job, so you're not left with a pile at the end. How waste is handled will be clear in your quote.
Do I need to be at home while you work?
Not usually. As long as we can get into the garden and use an outside tap, most people carry on with their day as normal. We'll keep you updated as the work progresses.
