FAQ

Good to know.

Anything else, just message us. We're happy to talk it through.

Is air conditioning noisy?

Modern wall units are very quiet indoors, and most have a night mode. The outdoor unit makes some noise, so we place it carefully, away from bedroom windows and the neighbours where we can.

Can it heat as well as cool?

Yes. Most systems we fit are air to air heat pumps, so the same unit can warm the room in winter. It's handy for conservatories, loft rooms and garden offices.

Do I need planning permission?

Many home installs don't, but it depends on the property and where the outdoor unit goes. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas often need permission. We'll check before we start.

How often should it be serviced?

Once a year is a good rule. A service cleans the filters and coils, checks for leaks and keeps it running quietly and efficiently.

Who can work on air conditioning?

Anyone installing, servicing or re-gassing a system needs an F-gas qualification, because the refrigerant must be handled safely. It's worth asking any installer about it.
